Brake is a road safety charity and we exist for a simple reason - because every 30 seconds someone, somewhere in the world, is killed in a road crash.

We believe that the misery of road deaths and injuries, and the pollution of our planet by vehicles, is a shameful epidemic that must end. Brake works tirelessly to stop the carnage and support the victims.

Brake's National road Victim Service is a free, confidential, specialist service for you, if you have been bereaved or seriously injured in a road crash, or are supporting a road crash victim.  You can contact us by telephoning 0808 8000 401 or by emailing here.  We offer support to anyone who has been bereaved or seriously injured in a crash or the carers, whether the crash happened recently or a long time ago  It is also for professionals, such as police officers or health workers, who need information about how to help people affected by a crash.  Our support officers are paid professionals, experienced in supporting people who have suffered a dreadful experience.  

Online Support Guides.  Brake supports a range of guides for people bereaved or seriously injured in a road crash.  If you have been bereaved then the police are required to give you printed copies of brake guides for adults and children.  If you have not received these, call our helpline on 0800 8000 401 for free copies.

Funeral Donations?  Asking friends and family to make a donation in lieu of flowers at a funeral service is a lovely way to celebrate the life of a loved one.  We have collection envelopes which are able to be used at funeral services.  You can order these today by emailing us here.
